Travel information

Leave the M6 at Jct 36 and follow A591 and then A590 towards Barrow in Furness for about 10 miles. Almost immediately at the top of the Lindale Hill (dual carriageway bypass)turn left towards Cartmel along a quite narrow road. Turn left at the first crossroads and carry on, taking care to give way after about a mile. Soon afterwards you will see the Priory tower in the near distance on the right. Take the first road on the right after the 30 mph sign. You are now in Priest Lane.

Parking

There is plenty of space in the nearby Cartmel Park, where you can leave your car for a very modest fee (presently £1). To find the Park continue along Priest Lane, which turns sharply left, passes the Cavendish Arms and joins The Square immediately after passing through The Gatehouse archway. Turn right and then after about 20 metres take the narrow lane immediately to the left of the Village Shop. This leads past the Village Hall to Cartmel Park and Racecourse, where you can park your car. From here you can walk back through The Square to the Priory - it’s approximately 300 metres.

Visitor Hours

The church is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. in summer and 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. in winter.

Admission

Admission is free. A donation is requested towards the work of the Priory and the upkeep of the building.
