School Visits

The Education Department welcomes 10000 children every year from schools and other groups. Southwell Minster is the home of the Time Travelling Pilgrimage (www.timetravelling.co.uk), and we offer a range of exciting educational opportunities at the Minster every year which support the teaching mainly of RE and History. This includes ‘tailor-made’ days where teachers choose from 21 modules to put together a day to suit them, ‘festival days’ (exploring Christmas and Easter), a Year 7 day ‘Skin Deep’ and other events for schools and families. Schools are free to request their requirements and the Education Officer will help to put in place a program to suit.

The Education Department is fortunate to have a talented team of volunteers to help run Education days, so teacher are able to sit back, relax and enjoy their day with their pupils.

Gift & Book Shop - open 7 days per week, selling souvenirs, books, cards and gifts.
Refectory. Car parking close to the Cathedral.
Toilets, including disabled and baby changing facilities.

The Minster has easy access. A wheelchair is available for the less mobile.
There are large-print and braille guides for the visually impaired and a loop system for the hard of hearing.
