Train: London Liverpool St station (35 mins),
5 mins from station.
Road: Off A12 trunk road, signposted Chelmsford

There are no parking facilities at the Cathedral, but coaches can set down and pick up at the bus stop by the Cathedral gate in Duke Street, opposite the The Fleece.

Arranged visits

Guided Tours

Visits by community groups or parishes are most welcome. In addition to showing all the lovely aspects of the Cathedral we try to meet any specific interests of a particular group.

It is, however, important to book in advance. Tours can be arranged through Visitor Officer. There is a charge of �2.00 per adult.


School Visits

The education programme includes a variety of trails and activities, which are cross-curricular, but are designed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum, especially the R.E. syllabus. Contact the Cathedral Office for further details

Advance booking is essential (preferably three weeks in advance), since the Cathedral is a very busy place. Even if a guide is not required it is still advisable to make a booking as soon as possible.

A visit to the Cathedral costs �1.00 per child, �1.50 per child for workshops. Teachers and helpers are not charged.

    There is a well stocked shop in the Cathedral selling guide books, cards, books and small gifts.

Facilities for disabled

    Access by wheelchair. There is a wheelchair available to borrow. Loop for hard of hearing. Facilities for visually impaired include large print service sheets and hymn books.
