Travel information |
The Cathedral is sited just to the west of the city centre on College Green. From Temple Meads railway station buses run to Clifton via College Green. By road from the west via the M5 and A4, access to the Cathedral is from Anchor Road (A4) just below the Cathedral School and opposite the Ibis Hotel. By road from the east and north via the M4 and M32, drivers should follow signs for the A4 (West) towards Avonmouth (M5) which will take you into left into Anchor Road or right to College Green. | |
Parking |
Parking the Cathedral is for permit holders. Day permits for business visitors can be obtained at the Gatehouse office or from the vergers. On-road, metered, parking bays are close by in Deanery Road, which offers a level approach, and behind the Council House in St. George’s Road. | |
Visitor Hours |
The Cathedral is open from 8.30am for Morning Prayer and closes before Evensong, which is 5.15pm on weekdays. Admission |
Entrance is free but donations are encouraged. A fee is charged for educational activities, which should be booked in advance. |

Arranged visits |
Guided ToursPublic guided tours take place during the summer season on Saturdays at 11.00am. GroupsGroup tours can also be arranged at other times. Please contact the Cathedral office, telephone 0117-9264879. School VisitsThroughout the year groups of young- and not so young- students take advantage of the cathedrals central location by including a guided tour and/or special activity within their itinerary of visits in the city. As well as open and free access, we offer the services of expert and experienced guides and space in which visitors can engage in practical activities to support school or college studies across the curriculum. There are some guidebooks and other materials available for teachers. Educational activities should be booked in advance. |
