Short-term coach parking is available on Angel Street and St Martin’s Le Grand to the north of the cathedral. This is operational between 0800-1900 Monday to Friday and 0800-1100 Saturday, with a maximum stay of 90 minutes. Long-term coach parking is available in Queen Victoria Street. This is operational between 0800-1900 Monday to Friday and 0800-1100 Saturday, with a maximum stay of 4 hours.

Visitor Hours

The cathedral is open for sightseeing Monday - Saturday between 8.30am and 4:30pm; last admission to the cathedral is 4:00pm. Galleries open at 9:30am and last admission to the galleries is 4.15pm.

On Sunday’s the cathedral is open for services and worship only.

Special events may close all or part of the cathedral, sometimes at short notice.

Arranged visits

Guided Tours

A multimedia is included with admission and is available in nine languages plus BSL and Audio Described formats. A family tour format can also be selected in each language.

Guided tours of the cathedral and crypt for are also available free of charge for individual and family visitors. Tours usually run four times daily at 10:00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 2:00pm and last for approximately 90 minutes (spaces are limited on these popular tours).

Introductory welcome talks are also offered at no additional charge approximately every 30 minutes from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Visitors should register for a guided tour or welcome talk at the volunteer information desk once inside the cathedral.


Groups are most welcome at St Paul’s Cathedral and there is no specific requirement that such visits be booked in advance as the group rates are available on arrival. However organisers are encouraged to contact the Sales & Admissions Office in advance to book and pre-pay for their group visits and enjoy smooth fast track entry.

Adult groups might like to arrange a 90 minute private group tour led by a cathedral guide. This is at an additional cost to admission of ?3.00 per person and start times can usually be arranged for 10.15am, 11.15am, 1.15pm and 2.15pm Monday to Friday (sometimes on Saturday’s too). A minimum of 10 people is required to book a private group tour and enquiries should be made at least a week in advance. / tel: 020 7246 8357

School Visits

The Schools & Families Department offers a range of themed guided tours and workshops, along with self-guided trails for UK schools, designed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum and GCSE/A level exam specifications. There is a purpose built, secure, spacious classroom plus cloakroom and lavatories in the Cathedral’s Crypt.

The department also hosts events/INSET for teachers and teacher training courses.
